There are some photos of the collection of Ralph Lauren Fall 2009/2010 Ready-to-wear.

I think Ralph Lauren used the below colour schemes in this collection:

Achromatic colour scheme e.g. grey and black

Analogic colour scheme e.g. blue, purple, red

Monochromatic colour scheme e.g. red

As I have mentioned before, the brands would like to use bright colours to show the optimism and happiness in Spring and Summer in 2009. There are no exceptions for the fall season. The brands would like to use more bright colours because the world is having the economic depression and this problem has not been solved. All people are affected by the economic tsunami and they are feeling sad and confused. The brands might use bright colours to convey a message to those people to be happy. It is like the brands are cheering us up and telling us not to give up. Ralph Lauren is a good example. Although he used dark colours at the beginning such as black, grey, brown and dark purple, the collection is becoming to be light colours afterwards. Around the last twenty clothes, Ralph Lauren used light colours in the design like white, pink, gold and silver. He might want to tell us that the life must go on even though we are facing hardship and everything will be better with each passing day.
